I feel ready to give up. Guest network access on my WNDR3400v2 has never worked. No matter how I enable it (through routerlogin.net or Netgear Genie), for which mhz broadcast, for what length of time, or any other setting I can modify, nothing will connect. Devices do not get an error that the passkey is incorrect--indeed it isn't (I've changed it several times, including an attempt with all hex characters), but no connection can be made. I've tried it with devices that connect to the non-guest netowork (both frequencies) without difficulty, but the guest network has never allowed a connection.

Any ideas? I do have latest firmware (which is 1.0.0.16 for the WNDR3400v2), so it isn't that. I feel like this, and need help: :(

Oh--one more wrinkle--the identical problem occurred last night, but with the standard network. This happened after I first set a monthly limit for the traffic meter (not yet exceeded), and my wireless computer and streaming device suddenly couldn't connect--again, without any "incorrect passkey" error message. After 3 re-boots of the router, they magically were able to connect again. I wish my guest network connectivity could heal itself . . . .

Hi,

I'm sorry if this is known topic, I haven't found anything with my searches so, I'm asking: recently I've changed my router (due to hardware failure) with WNR2000v3. Setup went smooth and everything works as supposed except speed. I have a 45mbps connection. With my previous router speedtest for example reported 40-45mbps (both upload and download). With this every check is 9,4-9,6mbps download and 0,2mbps up. No matter wireless or wired, with or without wireless enabled, no matter how many clients was active (I measured with one machine wired just in case). I've turned QoS option on and off - no change in speed. This is really annoying - can I do something to fix it or is it by design (intentional)?

I'll really appreciate any help.

I have a DGN3500 running with the latest firmware. I keep loosing the ability to access the admin GUI on 192.168.0.1, it basically has no response. I get it back after a restart but within an hour or so I loose access again.

The modem is still operating and my internet connection is fine. I do not use wireless, this is handled by a Apple Time Capsule in bridge mode.

I have used mutlipe browsers etc, tried a hard reset etc. When I cannot access the GUI I can still ping the IP address successfully.

I am not sure what is causing the issue, any ideas would be appreciated. I tried the official support but the reply has not been that helpful as yet.

Just purchased wireless router for my home network. I get DSL from Verizon. Yesterday I was able to get Windows Vista machine and iPad 2 to connect via Wi-Fi wireless and internet. I couldnt get Windows XP machine to connect to internet. downloaded upgraded wireless adaptor driver as suggested by another forum by XP still would only connect to wireless router but not go out to Internet. Last night my Vista machine was automatically upgraded by Microsoft with "fixes" and restarted. Now the Vista can only sign onto router but can't get onto Internet. I had my old Linksys for 9 years with no problems until it broke down yesterday.
I did ipconfig on Vista and got:
IPv4 address: 192.168.10.109
DHCP Server 192.168.10.101
Default Gateway 192.168.10.1

Also got a variety of DNS Servers some I entered manually:
Some are IPv6
2001:4860:4860::8888
2001:4860:4860::8844
10.0.0.1
192.168.10.101

This can't be this difficult. If I don't resolve soon it will go back to Best Buy for a different brand. I noticed on other forums that others had the same problem. I tried all the suggestions and while some worked on some computers often they did not and for most getting a new different brand router seemed to work.

Hi everyone, if I'm posting in the incorrect area, please accept my apologies. i have a netgear wndr3300 router. The router drops downloads via wired and wireless connections. The funny thing is I never lose internet connection on my ps3, wireless laptop, or wired desktop. I can always browse the web etc, but if your downloading something it may run 30 seconds, may run 5 mins but it will stop downloading. If you hit pause download, and then resume. it will continue to download for a few more mins/secs........ Now something interesting. If I use ps3 for online gaming etc, I don't get a lag or disconnected..... My desktop uses windows 7 home premium (64 bit). My laptop runs windows 7 starter edition (32 bit). and I have even had it happen on my friends laptop that uses windows xp sp3 (32bit) any help would be appreciated as I am really stumped.

Seem to be having a weird problem with port forwarding for ultravnc on one router. a little background info.

I work between 2 offices and work from home too.
Each location has a adsl2+ line, and I have a DGND3300v2 at all 3 places. all 3 locations are more or less setup the same.
Each location has a lan ip set as: 192.168.100.xxx

Office 1:
My Pc, Office Pc, Cctv Dvr

Office 2:
My Pc, Office Pc, Cctv Dvr

Home:
My Pc, Office Pc, Cctv Dvr

My Pc's I login with remote desktop (port 3389). works at all 3 locations.
Office Pc's I login with ultravnc (port 5900). works at home and office 2, not office 1.
Cctv Dvr's I can login to via http (port 80) at home and office 2.

I have the same ports open on all 3 routers, I gave each pc the same ip on the lan, office is 192.168.100.200, mine is 192.168.100.1, dvr is 192.168.100.100.

Now the problem is at office 1. my pc works fine with connecting with remote desktop and ultravnc when i installed it. i cant connect to any other device on the lan externally.
I cant remote desktop to the office pc or use ultravnc, it keeps telling me that i'm behind a nat firewall. i can connect to it via the lan internally though.
I've spoke with my isp about it, and they've told me that theres no restriction or any ports banned on my line.

Can it be caused by a physical line problem?

Any help would be appreciated

If so, can someone direct me to how to set one up to do so? Here's my situation.

I have a network that consist of computers that are all connected via wireless adapters. No computers are hardwired. The Internet access consist of a DSL modem, and a WNR2000v3 router. Now here's the kicker. Instead of using bridged mode and allowing the router to handle Internet and DHCP duties, the person who setup the network disabled DHCP mode on the router and set it up to basically act as a wireless switch. This office has a large printer that had a print server attached, which has gone bad. What I want to do is setup a separate WNR2000v3 as a print server so that everyone can print to the large printer again. The printer is network ready (has a Ethernet port).

The printer CANNOT be moved and no cable can be ran from the printer to the present router that controls the wireless connectivity. This is NOT an option. What can I do?

Have tried running a 1.5Tb Seagate as the readyshare drive on my DGND3300 with no success.
I need to transfer files larger than 4Gb, so Fat32 is out.
I'm also running several Mac's so I'd prefer to not use NTFS
I have formatted the drive as exFAT to facilitate large file transfer.
When I plug the drive in I can see in in the admin setup etc, but cannot connect to it.

Few q's
Does the router even support drives of that size?
Do Netgear routers support exFAT formatted drives as readyshare devices?

I believe the firmware on the router is 2.0.0.54.

Has anyone had any success trying something similar?

Please help!!
