To be able to post a new topic/reply to the forums you first need to create a forum user account.

How do I register and validate myself as a NETGEAR customer?
For the general consumer product forums, you do not need to validate yourself as a NETGEAR customer, these forums are available to all registered forum users. However, to access the Enterprise forums - You are required to be a registered owner of a NETGEAR Enterprise product. If you use the same email address on the forum and NETGEAR product registration portal, your accounts will be automatically linked. On the other hand, if you choose to use a different email address, You can manually link your accounts during registration or later by visiting the customer verification page - http://forum1.netgear.com/netgearcustomer.php

I just posted a new topic/reply. But I do not see it online !
All posts are first screened for profanity or inappropriate behavior before being posted.

How long does it take for a new post/topic to complete the profanity screening before it is made live?
It normally only takes a few minutes for a post to be screened and then made visible on the forums. This time of course may vary depending on the amount of posts that need to be screened and the time of day.

Why am I not able to view a topic/forum with the URL provided by my friend?
The URL probably is pointing to a forum thread that can only be see if you are logged in and/or required additional permissions. Example: beta forums require the user to sign up for them before they become visible.
