I would use APC backup UPS in the first place to minimize the damaged to router.

fast as "****" preshare key are know issue so I say downgrade or use backup UPS to se current firmware

Hi,
as far as I know the preshared key issue is present in every firmware I tried. Downgrade your router firmware won't help. I'm actually using a beta firmware that make the issue less frequent. I would recomend you to open a case with netgear tech support, so you could try the latest firmwares.

The UPS option is of course the only practical workaround to this issue.

but we all know with a ups it only lasts for a certain amount of time...
sad thing is i have 2x fvs538 2x fvs338 & 3x fvs124g's
wish netgear would release firmware that really works..
would i be right in saying the 2.1.0-7 firmware for the fvs338 is more stable than 2.1.3-17 firmware???

I'm running 3.0.2-21 in my only fvs338. The router is always online, so no psk issue. Never had a single issue since I upgraded. I would choose the latest firmware available.
