i have a WNR3500L - it works well but after various computer moves it is really in the wrong place for the wireless access i need
moving it is possible but VERY difficult to rerun all the network cables so an option would be to add a second access point - which i believe is possible so looking at whats available i come to WN802Tv2 or WNHDE11 - although not sure about that one - sure there are many others but want N spec and would prefer to stick with Netgear - any other recommendations ? is my logic correct that all i need to do is wire the 2nd access point to the WNR3500L, choose a different channel and thats it - obviously sort security out - can i use same password for both wireless points thanks in advance for any help tony |

ahhh thanks - only just started looking - missed the obvious there though
i believe the WNR3500L is 2.4Ghz - so would i be best to choose the same spec in any additional access point the wireless cards i am using are Dell - 2.4/5 GHz Wireless 1505 PCI Express WLAN Mini-Card - so i assume would be ok with either |

wether placing remote location via ethernet cable or repeating you can roam yet google "roaming aggressiveness" to understand the setting you need to apply so that it can hop to next AP, if not laptop will hang to first one long as it can.

can i come back on this as i have not done anything yey
at the moment all my wired systems are gigabit - the wireless is N - following a suggestion i am now looking at adding another wireless router and turning off the router part of it thus making it an access point that will be connected into the existing system but the router i am looking at is not gigabit - thinking about a WNR2000 am i right in thinking it will not matter and will not slow the wireless down as it is the new access point that the wireless is likely to see |
