Default WNDR3400 -Wireless Not Working

I am able to configure the router and connect using wired connection. Wireless works with no encryption or WEP only. I can't get WPA or WPA2 to work at all. I am using windows 7 laptop to connect wirelessly, but no luck.

Is there anything special with those security protocols?

After working great for several weeks. The wireless network from my NetGear WNDR3400 cannot be used by any devices. All can see and "connect" to the network, but laptop cannot use the internet and blueray cannot use any wireless features. To our knowledge, nothing changed. What could possibly be the problem. I am new to this type of device so it could be something simple I have done. We have tried reseting the device and that hasn't changed anything. Any advice???

By reset I meant simply unplugging the power source to both the modem and router and allowing both to reboot.
