I have two Ipevo SO-20, one Belkin F1PP000GN and one Netgear SPH101 WiFi Skype Phones plus 3 PCs with installed Skype, all these running on WiFi connected to ADSL Internet by means of a U.S. Robotics Wireless MAXg ADSL Gateway.
(DHCP, not crypted Wi-Fi, MAC filtering) There are several Skype accounts being used. However the Netgear SPH101 disconnects from Skype and Internet after a couple of minutes and must login again. Does anyone know the cause for this ? (Netgear SPH101 : hardware vers. 8412, serial number 1JD171J602E1A, software vers. 1.0.46.11, date2006-12-15) I understood that this software is the latest available. I am very disappointed of this Netgear SPH101 Skype phone. Is there a solution to the described issue ? thanks |

Is your SPH 101 working currently? Mine isn't connecting from 08/20/2011. It worked from 2008 till now.
I have contacted Netgear and they told me I have to contact Skype.com, the problem is on their side. Is your phone *connecting* to Skype service? Mine reports "Sign in was not successful". The same account works well on all Windows / Linux Skype clients in the same network. |

hello,
I have not been using my SPH101 for a couple of months using the Ipevo skype phones instead (which have no problems). Today I checked my SPH101 : no other issues were found than those reported in my previous post : SPH101 logs in to the wifi network and then to skype, but stops working after a couple of minutes, after having done several skype and skype-out contacts. I contacted netgear support in Germany and also the support of the ADSL access point which is a U.S. Robotics Wireless MAXg ADSL Gateway.
No solution was found. So I continue to use my IPEVO SO-20 skype phones which are working fine and abandoned SPH 101. Hans |
