Default Android Remote

I'm looking for people interested in beta-testing an android-remote. It is not ready for release, but I would like some feedback to see what needs to be changed/improved. It is preferred that your media is shared as samba, and that cover-art is in separate "folder.jpg" as TAG-files are not supported yet.

Drop me a line about your setup if you want a beta-version, and if you have a filemanager or dropbox on the device ?

Autodetect
Your NeoTV550 needs to be on stand-by or turned on in order to be detected. There might be a little delay after selecting the device, before proceeding.

Navigating
Navigating the GUI if needed, or a dvd/bluray menu. Swipe to get to the following info-screens.

Video Info
Click on the flags to select audiotracks/subtitles.

Music Info
Click on a song for playing it. At the moment you still need the GUI to add/remove songs from the playlist.

Audio Tracks

Subtitles

Gallery
Gallery of your movies, at the moment ISO (dvd+bluray) and bluray-folders are supported, but MKV could easily be supported if needed. Too many movies (>500) could cause memory problems at the moment.

Scanning
Enter your user, password and servername. Currently it will scan all shared folders for movies. This could take a while, but I will try to improve that later. Please note, after making a scan you need to exit back to "AutoDetect" screen and select device again, to have the gallery reloaded (sorry).

Bugs
Communication with the Neo might be lost, very likely if the android-device enters standby. This will be improved soon, I hope.

The Neo is not happy about switching from one bluray to another without a few seconds pause, so if you select a bluray from the gallery while already playing another, it might crash or forget to clear the GUI.

You have all received PM about installation.

And since I cannot edit previous post:
  • Connection with Neo has been improved and should not drop
  • Stop button is experimental and will stop blurays without requiring pressing stop two times.
  • Requires at least Android 2.1

I got a chance to try it last night. It went to Autodecting... for quite a long time, and then finally found my 9150. But it never found my Neo. Thoughts?
