Hi All,
I was just given an EVA9000 to try out and see if I like it. I managed to set it all up OK, there are a few movies on the existing built in HDD. My problem is I have a Seagate "go flex" desk 3TB Ext HDD that I want to add via the USB but the ECA9000 does not recognise it. I tried a mini USB memory stick and it worked fine, in fact I used that stick to install firmware update after restoring factory defaults. I have no internet for a few days, so I am connecting "stand alone". I have checked to see my Seagate has NTFS, all good. I can plug the Seagate into my mac and read/play/watch the files on my mac, no problem. Had a quick crack at networking with my apple airports even with out the internet, sort of got somewhere, but feel it's a waste of time until I get the internet sorted... Anyway, any ideas why I can't see my USB connected directly into the EVA9000? Thanks for your help in advance, Bezza |

I think you drive is TOO big.
most readyshare compatible router to support 3TB just started EVA9000 is old unit I doubt it will see it. try something small such as flash drive and see. I know it works. I have beta eva9000 and has worked with small drives

Could it be that I have not left it connected to the 9000 long enough to read the drive? I might try leaving it on all night and see what's happened in the morning.
Thanks for your reply June, Cheers, Bez |

No, that will not help. The problem is that the EVA is limited to <= 2 TB drives (with directly connected drives). It will of course work with as NAS using CIFS or NTFS.

Ha, so I just found out, it's a no go. So NAS, not quite sure what that means "Nasty And Steep" in pricing. Could I not plug this Saegate 3TB into my airport or something?
