I have setup a Netgear WNDR3700v2. I have access to the internet, everything works fine so far. I bought a new Kingston 8GB USB stick and formated with FAT32.
I want to use this storage to store pictures on my backpacker travel and share with my family. I thought, it would be nice if I can access this storage with an ftp client on my notebook. The problem is, that I cannot connect. The USB stick is activated. I use the standard Netgear firmware, it's the newest version. I can access over http:// with my dyndns.org with Safari (Mac) and after I put in a username and password I have access on my files. But I cannot store a file. I downloaded a ftp client (cyberduck) and tried to access over ftp. It works, I can access but I the folder with all date is invisible. In the folder share, the standard folder I cannot store anything, it refuses anything. I have write rights enabled for the user admin and I login as admin. I cannot understand. address ftp://****.dyndns.org/shares with port 21. did anybody manage to connect to the usb stick over an common ftp client? how to do it? There must be a way to store files over the internet... Thanks in advance |
