There is another new Beta firmware available for download at the moment from Netgear Support. This shows up as 'V1.0.0.19_1.0.19_Test4' on your router's Status page.
For any who are unfamiliar I will just point out a few things:
If you have a previous version then please refer to the thread for that version: V1.0.0.19_1.0.19_Test1: http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=73252 V1.0.0.19_1.0.19_Test2: http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=73934 V1.0.0.19_1.0.19_Test3: http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=74179 |

First impressions count they say, well sadly my first impressions of this version are poor.
When looking at the list of connected devices and the WiFi Access List, the information was corrupted on mine after performing the update. The MAC Address of the last item was repeated. This was reported to Netgear with a link to a suitable screen dump. |

Thanks Scubbie. Netgear just emailed me a link for this so it must have just been released.
Not really hopeful that this will do anything for my lack-of-reconnection issue as its been nearly 6 months now but will test it over the weekend. |

No problem Keith. I was getting quietly upset with the previous version and was working slowly to reduce possible causes. Hopefully this will be more stable.
As mentioned in post #2 though, it isn't perfect. |

I'm sure you already noted it but don't forget to reset to make sure everything's in place. |

![]() First thing I did was to back up my existing settings as I downloaded the new firmware. I'd recently added a new mobile to the list of approved devices, so knew that i had better do that too. Unfortunately when restoring, the config file failed to load so I used the previous one. thankfully that did work. It was when I went to add the phone that I spotted the issue. Later, after updating tech support, I noticed the same problem in the attached devices list. This wasn't the case with the previous version (Test3). Phooey - just remembered some port forwards too. I'd better add them too.

I can't tell if any of these firmware versions does anything for connection drops since it takes a thunderstorm to make my connection drop and we haven't had one since November, but I can tell the Wi-Fi connection gets dropped every 5 days or so and I have to reboot to get it back. I don't loose internet connection and wired devices still works when it happens.

I've only been running with this new Test4 firmware for 2 1/2 days so far.
At the moment I only have the router on its own, no USB drive or stick. So far it seems to be fine though. |
