VPN Setup Help!!

Hello All,

I am new to the field and brand new to networking. We currently have a VPN FVS318G Router. I went through the VPN Wizard, and set everything up. I also set up an vpn client account. I am trying to use Shrew Soft Access Manager, but have also downloaded the free trial of the netgear client software. In Shrew Soft, I set everything up and it opens the tunnel, but I cannot see any of the mapped drives or ping any of the network computers. I get a similar issue when using the netgear software.

My question is if the tunnel is open aren't the settings right and shouldn't the network resources be available?

Disable/configure software firewalls and ping by IP address

And make sure both LAN subnet is not the same as well
