"error upgrade module name" WNR1000v2 xbox issue

Hi folks,

Apologies if this is a redundant post. I've searched for my specific issue and don't see a resolution.

Trying to do a firmware update and auto updater doens't work. I have the wireless router WNR1000v2, wire connected to a Comcast gateway. My xbox can connect to wireless, but can't connect to the xbox live service. I think I need to first update the firmware.

I receive the following error: "Error upgrade module name (Module Name is "WNR1000v2-VC")

download fails to update firmware

current Firmware Version V1.0.0.3NA
trying to get to 1.1.2.50

2. Any obvious thoughts on why xbox can connect to wireless but not the xbox live service? DHCP settings?

this router is retail unit? not from comcast?
