Default Weird network issue

Hi everyone,

It looks like my Neo550 is defective, but just in case I thought I'd ask here in case someone has a suggestion or has experienced the same problem.

Once my Neo has booted, it works fine.

The only problem is that it won't boot if there is a network connection.

I tried with the USB wireless adapter or with the ethernet wired connection, the result is the same.

If the wire is in or if the USB adapter is in, the Neo displays the first splash screen, then the screen goes blank with the led blinking yellow, and it goes on forever.

If I unplug the wire or the USB adapter, it works absolutely fine, finds all my shares, etc.

If I put it on standby, it works fine when it wakes up.

If I power cycle it, it won't boot unless I unplug the network connection.

The only time it cold boots properly is after a factory reset, when it's in standalone mode.

Of course I tried resetting it, reprogram the f/w (I tried both the latest and the one before, same result).

Any idea?

That does not sound good. There's a similar report here: http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=71022

It was resolved by disabling DLNA on the NTV (and also ensuring that all the NetBios names were unique).

Thanks for the quick reply Stephen, it seems to have solved it (disabling DLNA).

That's great, I really thought it had gone bad, but couldn't figure why...

Cheers,

Manni

It started playing up again, and I noticed that the disable DLNA option doesn't survive a power cycle. It goes back to Enable (no play).
Where would you check netbios names?
