Default How-To Factory RESET SC101 Hard Drives

CAUTION: The following commands will erase the hard drives to a factory blank condition.

SC101 Telnet instructions

1. You need the root IP of the SC101.
2. Reset the SC101 by holding the reset button for 6 to 8 seconds.
3. Open the command prompt and type: telnet "the root IP of the SC101"
Example: telnet 192.168.1.100

You should see the following prompt:
-->

If you see this prompt you have successfully initiated a telnet session to the vxWorks operating system on the SC101

Here are basic telnet commands:

-->rootShow
-->partShow
-->resetDrive 0
-->resetDrive 1
-->reboot

Note: These commands are case sensitive.
Note: Use the rootShow command to find verify the Hard drives are detected properly.
Note: Do not use the resetDrive command on a non existent root.
Note: The resetDrive command will format the drive, you can reset root-0 or root-1
Note: It takes about 4 minutes before the drives will show up on the network after the reboot command.


* Windows Vista users will need to manually install telnet
