Unhappy IP address not working!

Used http://192.168.1.1 to set up WPN824v1. After choosing a SSID name and WEP password, I stepped away from the computer for a few minutes. When I came back, I found my router's name in the WiFi list! I typed in my password, it did not work.

I decided the solution would be to change the router name and password, but http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 will not load.

I am connected to the internet. I restarted my computer and cleared my browser's cookies, but the IP 192.168.1.1 will not load.

Please help, I am about to go insane.

If you go to a Command Prompt (Start, All Programs, Accessories) and type ipconfig /all then the IP address of the gateway should be the router address.

I considered that but if he has an Internet connection then he has a gateway, which is the router, so wired or wireless should not matter he should be able to access the router login at the gateway IP address.

I appreciate you all trying to help me. I have a Mac computer. I am connected to the internet, but not through the router. Also, I found that the router is version 3, if that makes a difference. The router is plugged in and I can see the name of it in my WiFi list.

I was able to access 192.168.0.1 before, to set the name of the router and the password. I wanted to rename my router and change the password because it wasn't working. My questions are:

a) why can't I access the IP address for a second time?
b) When I set the passphrase, is it the password or is the WEP key the password? (if the second one is true, does that mean I have to type in the 15 letters and numbers EVERY time I log in to the router?)

passphrase has NOTHING to do with router's interface password.

depends on mac, WEP are not going to work .. WPA+WPA2 with B&G mode on WPN's wireless settings

also you may need to go ahead and use "DHCP with manual address" on mac side (system prefer>network> choose adapter, you will find it there)
