Default windows server 2008 settings / SSL312

Hi

We have Windows Server 2008 standard installed.

Client PC running Windows Xp fully updated SP3.

Joined to the domain.

Using Netgear FVS318 and SSL312.

The SSl is using Kerberos domain authtication, and I can confirm it does check with the active directory user name and passwords.

(tried this with cable connected and also disconnected, and used a vodafone dongle)

Logged into the client computer using the Administrator built in account on server, I can connect to the SSL312, download and install the VPN tunnel with full access to the domain.

Created a new standard user, and the VPN tunnel would not install. IE8 refuses to install the certificate. I have done the firmware upgrade on SSL312. I have configured policies to allow the scripts to run. IE prompts to download and install but then after you confirm install it pops up this program has been blocked from installing.

Created a new user copied from the Administrator profile. Received similar errors while trying to install the VPN Tunnel.

I have changed a few settings on the server, in local security policy which has aloud the administrator user to download and install the vpn tunnel and get full access to the server.

What i am trying to do is find out how I can do this for a standard user, without giving them full admin rights. I know I can upgrade their user in the user settings on the client computer to give them administrator rights to only that computer but I do not want to do this if i can avoid it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Chris

i have tried firefox.

It works fine using the built in administrator account and if i create a user and make them an administrator its works fine.

I was kinda hoping you guys might know what options i need to change to make it work for a standard user.

The sales people who need to VPN in, are set as limited users on their laptops, any installation of new programs are installed by myself using the administrator account.

Most programs, once installed by administrator can then be used by limited users on their own profile with no problems.

Do you have it set to delete the install files on exit?
