Default Windows Media Player 11 - No EVA2000 visable in media sharing box ?

Hi Please help or refer me to a place i can find an answer - thank you in advance.

I have just bought a Netgear EVA2000 and have it wired to my router.

I'm not that Tech savy so please explain clearly - if you can help.

I have downloaded Windows Media Player 11 and have followed the process to "share media"

but

the Netgear2000 does not appear in the place where i need to "Allow" it to be shared from??

is it something to do with a firewall setting? if so how can i solve it.

many thanks

has this got anything to do with the problem?

"The following table shows the firewall ports that must be opened if you want to share media to other devices."

Port
Protocol
Scope

1900
UDP
local subnet only

2869
TCP
local subnet only

10243

10280-10284

I am having the same problem. I just spent three hours with netgear support and no answer. They are to call me back. I will post here what they say.
