This is the first error of this kind I've had with the SSL VPN--I have a sneaking suspicion that my ISP may have shut down some ports. The error just started yesterday (firmware on FVS336G latest, 3.0.5-25).
It reads, "Error: A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed. For further assistance, click More Info or search Help and Support." 32 bit XP, IE 8, Firefox 3.5.7. I can get the IPsec VPN to work to the same remote site. Also, I haven't had any trouble using the SSL VPN on a second FVS336G coming from the remote site to my local connection. Has anyone else seen this problem/come up with a workaround? Thanks |

check with ISP if 443 has been blocked for FVS336 side, if 443 is your https:// newest firmware will allow to change the port# as well so that other option if 443 is now block by ISP

Simple-stupid solved the problem (power cycle). Something must have hung up in the router. The port was set to 443 which is not blocked by my ISP. I rebooted from within the router maintenance section prior to posting, but this didn't cut the mustard for whatever reason.
Thanks for your pointers. |
