How to add a second IP to a netgear ADSL2+

Hi there,

I have just asked my internet service provider to give me a second external IP address. I will use the original IP address for regular internet usage (email and web surfing), the new IP will be for hosting a website.

I have a Netgear ADSL2+ (DG834G), what I would like to know is if there is a way of setting this up to pass all traffic addressed to the new IP strait through to a server, while traffic addressed to the old IP functions as before.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Do you have another router or are you just using the DG?

As far as I know, the DG does not support Multi-NAT. I think only the ProSafe and ProSecure routers support it.

Correct indeed unless you want disable NAT on DG
