I've only had limited success using UPnP with the EVA8000.
My first attempt was using TVersity running on a PC as the UPnP Media Server. It sounds like the MP101 works like TVersity and does its own categorization and grouping of files to simplify browsing. When I tried doing this with the EVA8000, it took forever for the EVA8000 to "walk the UPnP directory tree" to find and categorize all of the files. This was due to the fact that every file showed up multiple time in the UPnP directory structure under different categories. It would then lose all of the UPnP directory hierarchy and recategorize all of the files using its internal media library and rules. The same file also showed up multiple (up to 6) times in the EVA8000 media list since the EVA8000 finds the same file under different directory paths. e.g.: Audio->Genre->Rock->x.mp3 Audio->Artist->Joe->x.mp3 Audio->Album->Greatest Hits->x.mp3 What I think the EVA8000 needs to do is to handle "smart" UPnP media servers differently and simply browse the UPnP directory structure real-time and not try to walk the UPnP directory tree to add all files to its internal media library when the server is added. Until this improves, I've abandoned using UPnP with the EVA8000 and only use SMB shares. |

What version of UPnP does TVersity use?
I have that problem with an early version of Twonkey ages ago, I believe Twonkey used UPnP 0.83
