I'm trying to listen to KUSC Internet radio. They provide a 32KHz feed and a 96KHz feed:
http://www.kusc.org/streams/kusc32.m3u http://www.kusc.org/streams/kusc96.m3u Both play fine on my PC, but both have distortion (popping and squealing) on the EVA8000. I want to make sure this isn't a networking problem on my end. Could others try this station and let me know if you hear this distortion? Thanks. |

Are you using the digital audio output? If so it's likely that your amplifier simply cannot handle low bitrate audio. Try the analog outputs when you're listening to internet radio.

I tried analog audio and I hear the same distortion as I do with digital audio.
This is using beta 140. |

I just hooked up my SMC EZ-Stream audio streamer (SMCWAA-G) and it also plays both of these links to KUSC just fine with no audio noise.
So, the station plays fine on the PC and the SMC, but are distorted on the EVA8000 (on both analog or digital outputs). I think this is a problem with the EVA8000. |

This issue has been duplicated and escalated to development. It is slated to get fixed in a future version.
P.S. Interestingly enough internet radio using PLS streams plays just fine. Here are a couple that I tried: http://radio.michiganliveevents.com:8000/listen.pls http://www.wfmu.org/wfmu.pls |

Thanks for checking into this. I was getting worried that this was a problem with my unit.
One thing I noticed is that this station broadcasts as a 32 KHz sampled signal whereas most other stations are 44+ KHz. My receiver displays the PCM sample rate that it receives. I've also had problems playing WMV files if they are samples at 32 KHz. I wonder if these problems are related. Looking forward to a fix for this. |
