I didn't see any reference to opening the remote port. I assumed it needed only the local port 20001 passed.
Yes, communication between the SC101 and the host (=local) PC is via UDP port 20001.
There is no remote port software firewall configuration.

  1. It would help to know which product you have precisely.
  2. Post your question in the appropriate subforum of your routertype
  3. Try if a firmware update will solve your problem.
  4. Read this page on the Netgear KB

Called back the sales group who picked up right away again, promised they'd get me through with in 4 minutes and of course I waited and waited. I called back for a refund. they said they would process it, that was a month ago. Called back today, was told the research department would have to call me back. I said i just want the refund. Asked for a supervisor, was told he didn't have one, I said yea right and he said they are all in a meeting, and i said yea right and he put me on hold, basically hung up. Called back, same stuff, finally got a supervisor who confirmed the research department would have to call me back and said these things take time. SO Net Netgear, they will take your money in an instant, not allow you to get through to the service you just paid for and won't refund your money. Worst customer service experience i've ever had and never got my issue resolved
forum can NOT help you on service you purchase from the netgear support. forum is USER TO USER only.
