Help with netgear sc101!!

I have tried many things to get my netgear sc101 to work again. For some reason my netbook seems to not initalize the disk. It keeps making the windows 7 device disconnect sound every minute or so. I see the device popping in and offline through disk management.

Although, my laptop windows 7 is able to see the device fine, I'm however unable to use the windows xp netgear utility on a virtual machine that's on the same laptop. I keep getting "No storage central found".

I have tried changing the ip address of the device, tried the hard reset with the reset button, i have tried connecting a cable directly to the sc101, no success.

How do I get my XP Virtual Machine, Windows 7 laptop, and Windows 7 netbook to all share this device??? I thought you could use the sc101 on more than 1 device? This does not seem to be the case! How do i fix my problem?
