When using WNDR3700 as an Access Point, is there anyway of using ONLY "Guest Zone" ?

Excuse my tech details, I am sorta a noob to this access point and guest zone issue. I am wondering if I can use the WNDR3700 as a access point for wi-fi, by ONLY using the "guest zone" feature ? I have already tired disabling the DHCP option. I am able to get as far as actually obtaining the "guest zone" in my wi-fi status, but when I actually use it, ofcourse it can not connect to the net. I have not messed with the main linksys router in any way, and really don'r want to screw anything up.., because several wired terminals and Credit card machines are hooked up to it. I know that I am doing something wrong, but don't know what ?

I just want to know if this is possible ?. If not, could you please recommend me a good access point unit that I will have good security with, without really getting hacked into easy, and having them obtain possible credit card info. ? I know it's alot to ask, cause there is always someone out there that could. lol. Since I will be giving customers the passkey during their visit, I don't want to be hacked. Or maybe any other suggestions out there ?? I am ALL ears, and appericate ANY help that is given.

To use the "Guest" network as a stand alone network then the WNDR3700 has to be connected as the "Main" Router.

Attaching the WAN port on the 3700 will open up your Linksys network to the 3700's Guest clients so dont do that ;P...

It sounds like your running a Bed & Breakfast type of buisness and want to give wifi access.. You need something that supports two lan segments and from there seperate the guest & internet services from the other more secure services.

For a working solution you could check to see that your linksys and 3700 are using different ip ranges, put the 3700 as primary router, allow the guest network, and then put the linksys unit behind the 3700 (Using the linksys's WAN port).

Depending on where you are in the world, DataProtection laws may not permit you to use your system in the way your describing, without adding some more robust hardware than what you have.
