Hi
Not sure if this is the right place or if this has been requested before, but it would be very handy to be able to choose subfolders for scanning instead of just network shares. This can increase scanning time too. Also along with this, really need to be able to specify if certain folders are for Video only, Photos Only, Music Only etc, as all my Wall Art Jpegs for Movies are being picked up as Photos too ! Please can these 2 features be implemented? |

i asked the same question... refer to this post
http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=63197 it cannot scan a subfolder in a share.. I use a qnap nas so i was able to create shares for my existing subfolders.. you can select media type per share by hitting info when selecting the share.. again refer to my original post for more details if necessary Mike |

First, you can always specify the folders to search by entering them manually instead of allowing the NTV to search for shares. Second, when you highlight a share, (or folder) press the Info button; it gives you the option to specify what type of media can be scanned in that share.

OK, I've now tried the above on my QNAP 209. I am having problems getting the Neo to recognise the shares I enter. Here is what I am doing:
Example 1: SMB Name/IP: NAS Folder: Public/Our Movies Result: Folder share does not get listed on screen Example 2: SMB Name/IP: NAS Folder: Public\Our Movies (switched folder seperator from / to \) Result: Folder share gets listed on screen. However, when trying to scan, finds nothing. When trying to get to this share using 'Browse Folder', says 'Cannot Access..'. However I can scan all my media using the folder above this one (the Neo finds this without manually entering it: NAS/Public). Dont think my model of NAS supports NFS, as I have tried that option too. Any ideas??! |

I was trying to add Manual folders using the values above, as I wanted to specify different subfolders for different types of media.
Manually adding folders allows SMB or NFS, but I am coming into problems using the values above. Thanks |
