this is the situation :
i bought the 2 netgear xet 1001 adapters and used them with no problems. they worked fine with a nice speed. today i formated my harddisk and installed windows vista. Now i have connected the first adapter with my computer and the second with my router but there is no connection found... if i start the powerline encryption utility there are also no adapters found...all lights are on. so i tried it with an other w-lan adapter and connected with the internet. when both netgear adapters are connected with computer and router in the same time i can see on the encyption utility one of the two devices and this device is the one connected with the router. So all in all i think my windows blocks the connection between the two adapters.. what could i do against this problem ? i hope you can help me.. greets |

Could be Vista's own firewall blocking.
Situated behind a router, you don't need any further firewall. Use services to disable it and stop the service. |

Tnx for your info. In your case a simple network command such as IPCONFIG or PING will show problems with network components/OS drivers.
