Hi! I Googled my way here, read some articles but nothing seems to fit my issue.

Had this router for a couple of months, worked fine but lately it drops my wired connection. When this happens i cannot connect to the internet nor to the router itself (tried pinging but get connection timed out).

I tried to reset the router a few times, did hard reset and software reset, changed the ethernet port and still nothing helps, it runs fine for about 20 min and just hangs.

It drops connection independed of how many connections i have (i checked the log).

When it drops i go to network connections and do a release/ renew to get back online.

I have no other modem/switch/router, the router is directly connected to a 100Mbit citynetwork.

Sucker just went down again...

I need some serious help here

Just need to know if anyone else has had similiar problems and was there a fix.

Hi all, Googled my way to this place too. Same issue, just got off the phone with Comcast, and now I'm working with one PC connected by hardline which works fine, and proves the cable modem is just fine, and Comcast is "off the hook" I suppose...

But now I'm stuck with this (3?) year old Netgear router that holds connection for about 2 minutes, then drops, and repeats this all day. Multiple resets, nothing seems to "fix" it.

Barring hardware failure designed to occur 3 years from purchase ;-) I wonder if there is any other config / reset that can be done?

I've heard Linksys has a really good reputation for replacing routers that just die... beyond the typical 1-year boilerplate warranty stuff.

If both your wired and wireless connections are dropped it sounds like your router's giving up the ghost.

If you like the router, and can wait about a week or two for shipping, you can pick up a refurbished one for about $18 shipped on ebay. Can't beat that deal.

There are a lot of threads about this problem. No real solution so far. https://encrypted.google.com/search?...wpn824%20hangs

Posting more relevant data. I run my router only as access point and switch. I don't use router capabilities.
It still hangs when there's a lot of traffic. Wireless connection stops to work, web interface is inaccessible. Switch, however, does work.
