I got some information from Netgear Engineering on the status of the next firmware, and have posted it in the sticky http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=71997 .

Mmm. In April Netgear said they would be releasing new firmware every 3 months! The last firmware was August. So it seems they are slipping from a three month schedule to a six month one!

Feb seems like an interesting time to be doing a FW update. From what I have read Cinavia becomes a requirement for all players carrying a BD License on 2/1/2012. I would love to have someone from Netgear answer the following 2 questions.

1) Does the 550 currently have a BD License? (as far as I know it does)
2) Is Netgear going to implement (or be forced to implement) Cinavia in the Feb firmware update?

But it is an important question - this single issue will decide whether a large number of users will apply this update or not
