I have a couple of general questions to ask regarding the HDX101 models.
First off, my house setup goes as follows: In my garage, CM (Cable Modem)---Netgear rp614v3 router----HDX101 (adapter 1). VISTA COMPUTER CONNECTED TO ROUTER TOO. Inside my house: HDX101 (adapter 2) connected to Wii console. HDX101 (adapter 3) connected to a Netgear 8 port GIG switch. I have an Xbox 360, one networked printer, and Windows XP computer connected to the switch. HDX101 (adapter 4) connected to a Vista computer. My questions: 1. In the Netgear configuration utility, it lists Adapter 3 as the LOCAL and all the others as REMOTE. Is this setup normal? 2. Don't I want Adapter 1 to be LOCAL since it is feeding the other three adapters? 3. I want to stream video and music from my Garage, is my house setup the proper way using the HDX101's to achieve this goal? If not, please explain? 4. What is the best QoS setting on the HDX101s, to get the best speed? I understand, it all depends on the wiring of my house, how much noise there is on the line, and other variables which affect the speed. Keep in mind, I have tried many outlets inside the house to achieve the best connection and optimal speed. |
