DGND3700 re-connect DSL?

OK, I've had my new DGND3700 up and running on AT&T supplied DSL for approx a week with no connect drops (previous 2Wire had developed an issue of disconnecting/rebooting daily ). Based on the setup info it appears the unit is still running the 1.0.0.12NA version of the firmware. I have resisted updating it to the available 1.0.0.17NA version due to the problems some appeared to be having with it. Also, wanted to make sure my new 3700 would work out of the box.

Question is, is it safe to update the firmware to 1.0.0.17NA now? Are there any suspected issues with it at this time?
