Default WNA3100 + Windows 7

I have recently upgraded from Vista Ultimate 64bit (detested this version of windows) to Windows 7. I can connect to the WiFi with the WNA3100 adapter, but every time my PC restarts for whatever reason, i have to uninstall Netgear Genie 2.0 and re-install it to access the internet. Am i missing something here. One other thing, when i do reboot and i cannot connect to the internet, i click the Netgear desktop icon to access the control panel, nothing happens, it does not pop up and i still cannot connect, so when i do a re-install, i tried to do the upgrade part and nothing happens. The only way around it, is to uninstall and re-install afresh. Is their an incompatibility issue with WNA3100.

Regards

Dray

Ok, i have to remove the USB controller after windows boot up, then insert it into the port again. It (windows 7) recognizes the WNA3100 drive and coonects to the internet. Weird, but it saves me having to uninstall and re-install the software all the time

Ok, i have another issue going on here. When i have the adapter plugged into the USB port, windows freezes up. I have had the adapter out for almost 6hrs and no freeze ups. Is the WNA3100 software Windows 7 compatible. I have the latest software downloaded, which as i write this was Netgear genie 2.0. Appreciate any help on the matter.

Just to add, i am running Windows 7 64bit. Do i need to go and buy another WiFi adapter and if so, do i need to also purchase a router so i can connect my WiFi PS3, or will a WiFi extender do the job. I know the extender boosts your WiFi signal, as at the moment i have a weak connection and the extender will boost it, but the router i was not sure about. All help appreciated in this, i only plug the adapter in when i need to come online, it's a hassle but it's something i have to live with until i can get this issue resolved.
