WNDRMACv2 USB Printer Problems

I have just set up a WNDRMACv2 and connected my USB Printer/Scanner.
I am running Mac OS Lion, and I can see and add the printer from my Mac. However, I am unable to print and get a simple "communication error" message. Also, the scanner function is not visible at all.

Has anyone seen this before and how did they solve it?

The current connection is using Bonjour, but I am wondering if I could try the Netgear USB Control Center Utility as an alternative. The Netgear docs say it is only supported on WNDR4500 and WNDR3800 but would it also work on WNDRMACv2?
