I have a Stora set up with two 2Tb disks in a RAID 1 configuration. Mostly it works well and my Windows 7 64 Pro PC will back up to it everyday without problem.
The problems start when I try to locate and log on to the STORA using the normal Windows File Explorer, or whatewver Windows 7 calls it these days. I can find the Stora under Network but all I can see is the Family Library folder and if I try and open it I am prompted for a username and password but the usual ones never work. The only way I can access the Stora is to edit the address in the Explorer window with \Stora\MyLibrary and when I enter in the correct user name and password (it never seems to be able to remember these although it clearly does for a backup) I can suddenly see and access all the folders on the device. It seems as if the PC remembers another installation of the Stora as these problems arose after I upgraded the device by adding the two 2 Tb drives, replacing the original 1 Tb drives. Has anyone any ideas? All I want to be able to do is find and log on quickly to the device without having to go through this ritual every time. |
