Microsoft MPEG-4 v2 (pre-standard) video codec, which is why it is a problem. This was a bad choice for a basic file.

Mediainfo doesn't understand it either. However, it has theora video and vorbis audio, neither of which is supported by the NTV.

Microsoft MPEG-4 v2 (pre-standard) video codec again.

Reasonable, since the file is damaged.

This one has an ancient and proprietary video codec (Indeo). So it is out of spec.

I created a freeware tool (vid2eva) which can convert most of these (not test4, so that needs some more investigation...). You can find it at vid2eva.lefti.net. If you want to try it, you should probably register there, as I prefer to answer questions/provide support there instead of on the netgear site.

Stephen

Thanks a gazillion - had just stumbled upon vid2eva about an hour ago, and installed it. Will try it soon - and promise not to bug you too much. You have been massively helpful.

Cheers, and thanks.

Tom
