wgr614 v10 please help

Please help. I am running a Surfboard sb6121 with a netgear wgr614 v10 router. The speed test I run on this computer that is wired to the modem is

The wireless is running

ping 38
d/l 15.97
upload 3.10

The guy at comcast said that the move from a docsis 1 to the docsis 3 was a good move on my part cause the connection is better, I agree with him but the router he said should not be cutting the connection in half or more then half in my situation. I run a computer and sometimes a computer, laptop and xbox at night and that cutting my connection in half there has to be some kinda issue with the settings or router itself. Any help will do. This router not considered a good one or?
