We have wired network hotspots and am paying 90 dollars a month for it. I bought this router but it won't connect with the credentials. The only way is to leave the user name and password as not required and then enter it on the device that i am using through the browser, and only one at a time. I only bought the router so I can use laptop, ps3 and iphone at same time. HELP!

other paying hefty price I think for hotspot, did you use WPA2 or WPA encryption? also do not use access list in the router either ..

We are in Afghanistan. The company is sniperhill and they use microtik wired hotspots. I have talked to a couple of people and they said that Belkin routers were working by configuring as access points rather than routers. When i enter my username/password into the router and it tries to connect the microtik denies the connection (like it knows that it is a router) but will work if I choose that it doesn't require username password, but then it only works on one device at a time. I guess it isn't enough to gouge the troops with $90 a month rates for 56kb but can't take the chance that someone might not be paying. Really frustated because this shouldn't be this hard. Too bad we only have one choice.

Right. I can only use my laptop or another device at one time. I don't know why the router won't just handle the authentication.

assume is understatement. trying 3 three without knowing is waste of time.
if network uses PPPoA then it will not work. I would find out what authentication are used. it seems there might be a compatible issues but with a FACT of what type authentication, you can spend all day , all night there is not solution to it

definitely all night
will try to find out but doubt they will be forthcoming. i certainly appreciate your time and will post more when i know more. by the way, weird enough, but after i had made this purchase one of the soldiers i work with bought a tp-link router at the local bazaar, ran the installation disc and his works fine and can use it with all of his different devices at the same time. maybe it requires home cooking, thought i would mention don't know what i can get from it. i went and logged into his router and did not see anything different, weird huh!
