Setting up access point
Okay, so I purchased a 4500 this evening to hopefully integrate into our churches current LAN network. Right now we have ancient wifi gear and are planning on using this new router to bring us to this century. Our server room is in the far back corner of the church and I worry that the wifi signal will not reach the forward corners of the building so I was hoping to simply use it as an access point and plug it directly into our existing network via one of the LAN ports on the unit itself.
I've searched the internet and can't find instructions on how to configure it as an access point, I know its in the manual but am still a bit leary.. Is it as simple as telling it its an access point, turning off the DHCP, and giving it a static IP address? If thats the case do you still have the ready share features like USB sharing and printer sharing via the USB ports? I have a central location in mind but want to sure that everything will work properly before I install the router. On sunday we have between 15-20 people that will bring in iPads, iPhones, and will need access so the guest access feature is huge also. Will that be available?
Thanks for the help!
