Default Netgear DG834G V3 Firewall Router ( how to open port )

Hope someone can help.
I am trying to set up port forwarding on this router.
I add a TCP inbound service , name , type and port start and finish (i use the same port number for start and finish)

I check the service is setup in the firewall rules , allow always, wan users - any , send to ip of lan server (ip address of a pc with a dvr cctv card fitted).

If I use port open check to test it says the port is closed.

But if I set up the remote management on the router using the same port number as the web interface port and then go and use the port open check program , it says the port is open.

How do i open the port sucessfully using the service and firewall setup?

What am I doing wrong?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Graham
