I have a WNDR3700 router, which has been working OK for a few years now, but it does not provide adequate coverage in my (small) house. So I just bought a WN2500RP extender for that purpose. My wireless PC connects to the extender network just as expected, no problem at all. My iPhone and iPad do not connect. They show the connection in progress forever, or they interrupt with a messagebox saying "unable to connect to wireless network."
I did two setup attempts. The first was manual and I did a lot of configuration work before discovering the iPhone/iPad problems. I reset the extender to factory configs and used the WPS option to connect the two devices, no problem. Same result, though: my PC connects without issue, but my iPhone and iPad do not. Clues to look for? |

Static IP seems to have no effect: the symptoms are the same, with the animation indicating it is connecting, but it never actually connects. Very puzzling.

Hi MelRaff,
It is possible that your WNDR3700 and WN2500RP is just connected using 5Ghz and your computer is the only one that has a 5Ghz wireless adapter. Try Pressing the WPS button again from the WNDR3700 and WN2500RP for it will let the WNDR3700 and WN2500RP connect using 2.4Ghz. If that still does not work. Check if your iPhone and iPad if it still connects to the main one. Please provide also your current settings for both WNDR3700 and WN2500RP. |

Well, iPhone 4s and ipad2 ( although you can see the network in the list ) can accept 2.4 GHZ only.
However iPhone 5, the New Ipad and any Android device can accept both bands ( 2.4 & 5). Just choose the 2.4 for your iPad. ![]() ![]()
