Setup was kind of easy but not for the MAC
I never did get the Powerline utility for the Mac on my Macbook Pro running Lion to see any of the four devices I configured in our bedroom. Windows under Fusion was flawless. The firmware and Powerline Utilities worked great. It was only after I set everything up that the MAC saw my devices (four XAV5001) boxes.
My advice, connect all of your 5001's in one room, connecting each to one device. Update the firmware. Change the names, pick the networking you want, and if something doesn't work start over on all devices by doing a factory reset. It will avoid a lot of problems. So far I'm very pleased. Everything is above 100Mb, two posting over 300mb. So let's see how it goes. I've heard timeout stories where things stopped working. Hopefully that doesn't happen. Overall I would highly recommend, but you must have a Windows machine to do the configuration.
This is really going to cut down on my electricity bill and I can sell the four Airport Extreme routers plus my Linksys E4200.
