Question CG3000 and DGND3300v2 wireless AP/Repeater

Hi All,

My next door neighbour has a CG3000 with Optus (with their firmware), and I have a DGND3300v2. I was hoping to extend their wireless range into my place further, as we share the connection and bill.

I have looked online, and on their CG3000 configuration setup, but cannot find any references to configuring additional APs or repeaters.

I know the DGND3300v2 can act as an AP, but can we use it in conjunction with the CG3000, or are we stuffed?

Thanks in Advance.

1. Not sure the legal issues on sharing with a bill. Most ISP are not allowed to do that. Who gets fined are the one who has account paying to ISP.

2. You will be limited to WEP encryption or non so extender will be better choice. Wn2500rpt,wn2000rpt,wn3000rp

1) it has nothing to do with you use Internet with illegal thing. It's matter of ISP policy for SHARING can violates their policy

2) http://vpncasestudy.com/download/WDS/WDS_Concept.pdf
Same with all setups on WDS

1) That's OK as non of us do anything illegal, and you can share your internet connection with whoever you want, just leaving your security open here anyway.

2) So we can do it? Is there any documentation as to how? Even if we get the repeaters, which I have sourced, I cannot find anything in the CG3000 interface to configure a repeater or additional access point.

A "google" hasn't found me anything either, which is what I did before posting here.

Can you point me to a KB, or article on setting this up please?

I wonder if the Optus firmware has locked this function out, but as I cannot find anything on the Netgear site for the CG3000 documenting explicitly how to do this, I don't know if it is lost functionality or not.

Thanks for the reply BTW!

I did find that website already, but the CG3000 does not have the options for setting up repeater and access points, which is why I posted asking the question as to whether it can be done.

I cannot see in the online documentation either the setup options for the repeater/access point.
