Talking Validating Identity?

I just replaced an existing computer and when hooking up the new computer, I have connection to the internet but the status for my connection to the network here at home says "validating identity". Why is that? Later on I got a an error message that says, I quote: "There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network." Can anyone help me figure this out? I would truely appreciate it.

You have 2 machines on the same subnet trying to use the same IP Address, just change the IP of one of them to something in the range allocated by your router or server and it should be fine

For validating Identity, you might be using a pre-shared key password (either wpa or wpa2 or both). Since you have that error, I would assume that you have an XP computer, right?

Anyway, Just go to Network Connections. Right Click Wireless Network COnnection and go to Properties. Go to the middle tab (Wireless Networks). Go to the Preferred Networks box at the bottom. DOuble-click the name of your network. It will open up a new window. Go to the AUthentication tab. Make sure that everything is unchecked (Enable IEEE...., Authenticate as computers..., Authenticate as guest...).
