Hello everyone, hope I have posted this in the correct forum.
I am totally ignorant when it comes to network setup so your sympathetic understanding will be greatly appreciated. I have a cable modem cabled to an N300 WNR2000v2 wireless router, that is cabled to an HP e9237 desktop running Win 7 - 64. A DVR that is cabled to the N300 also. Could you direct me to a source that lays out step by step how to configure the settings on this equipment to make it work? The DVR instructions tells me that "port forwarding" must be done to accomplish this. It is all Greek to me. I would like to get this setup if possible, without requiring too much education on networks as it should be a one time event. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Ted |

You have to call DVR manufacturer and ask from the port numbers that you have to open and make sure you get the service type (whether udp, tcp or both) and the IP address of the DVR. Then you can visit the link below for similar instructions:
