wnce3001 cannot cofigure through pc or wps

This unit seems useless to me. Never had issues with any other wifi extenders.

My goal is to setup this unit to run on my 5GHZ network but I can't even get to work at all

Doing wps method results in the unit blinking green then blinking amber and green and then no light at all.

Connecting it to a pc with no network connection on the pc like the instrcutions say results in not being able to get to eh mywifiext.net web page to configure it, tried this on 2 different pc's

What the heck am I doing wrong?

My wireless router is an N900
