I had two computers wireless connected to a WNR2000v3. One is a desktop via the compatable adapter, the other a small laptop. When I connected an older Dell Inspirion laptop that had been my son's, instead of it just asking for the network password, it asked for the routers security id number. When I entered that, it showed security info for the router and connected. But the two other wireless connections were dropped, and I cannot get them back Both show the network is available, but will not connect. Since I must have screwed up the security settings, would the best thing to do be - reset the router to factory default and start all over? The figure out how to connect the Dell?

Thank you for the info, and I appreciate that you, as a senior member and a NETGEAR fanatic, know a lot about this stuff, but I, like a lot of other people who are looking for assistance here, do not. So knowing that the W2000 is a router and not an access point, how does that info help me? - That is, what is the easiest way I can get my two dropped connections back on, and possibly get the third connected as well.
Thank you. |
