Default DG834 bridge mode to Cisco ASA 5510

when putting DG834 into bridge mode do you need to have an ip address assigned to the router..... or does it loose all routing abilities and management??????

We need to use this router to dial a UK ADSL then pass all traffic to a Cisco ASA 5510

ISP -----------> Netgear DG834 --------> Cisco ASA 5510 (in bridgemode to dial connection) (new corporate firewall)
(no ip address assigned) (external ip address assigned)
Terninate Cisco VPN Access for remote users)
