Question Config File compatibility between models

Does Netgear use a common configuration file format for backing up all of its routers?

If I upgrade to a newer router, can I get a start at configuring the new router by restoring the old model's file on the new router?

e.g. I am replacing an old WGR614 with a less old WNR1000.
