After reading through a couple of the threads posted here it sounds as though my are similar to some of those that others are having, but not exactly the same. So I am going to describe my problem and see if anyone can help me.
Up until about 3 weeks ago my router worked fine - never had a problem with it. We have several different items connected to it, all wirelessly, and they never had issues getting a good signal or maintaining a signal. Then I went out of town for work and took my laptop, MacBook Pro, and since I came back I have had nothing but problems connecting. Everyone else is fine - cell phones, other laptops, PS3, bluray player, etc - it is just my laptop having trouble. I travel a decent amount for work and am always connecting wirelessly in different locations and this is the first time I have come home and had problems. I have done everything I can think to do : rebooted the router countless times, unplugged it just as many times, updated the router software ( currently Firmware Version V1.0.0.50_20.0.59) and I have taken my laptop to the Apple store. Let me mention here that it connects wirelessly to any other network but my own instantly and without an issue! The genius's at the Apple Store ran all sorts of tests, said my wireless card worked fine and finally just reinstalled my operating system, hoping that it was some sort of software issue. Because they could see in the log where my computer continually tried over and over to connect and just timed out, they knew it wasn't my the card when it connected in the store.Any suggestions where to go from here? At this moment, if my computer is sitting right next to the router, within a foot or so, I can get a signal, but if I go any further than that I cannot. Obviously this is very frustrating and I am at a loss as to what to do and I don't want to just go buy a new router! Thanks for any help or suggestions! |

it is likely that bad wireless is more than channel interference if you are not seeing huge changes with surrounding other wireless routers nears you http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider-for-mac/ For mac it's not free for if you have pc you can use pc version http://www.metageek.net/products/ins...expid=190328-0 But if the unit is under warranty, contact support via my.netger.com and possible RMA replacement may need to be done
