That doesn't have the beta release just the last official release.

Reset router to defaults, upgraded firmware from 1.0.7.98 to 1.0.16. Works fine.

If I set the device to "AP Mode" it constantly *resets* the ethernet ports. The devices lose link for about 1 second, the router's link lights also blink. This makes it incredibly hard to downgrade as well

Has anyone seen this and know of a work around? It's incredibly annoying. I've tried the obvious: reset factory (button) -> upgrade -> reset factory and it still exhibits the same behavior.
I just hit the exact same problem - cannot use it in AP mode at all with this beta firmware.

A solution to AP mode seems to be simply to turn off DHCP, set NAT to open, and change WNDR3700 IP address to something outside the primary router's DCHP range.

I say "seems to be" the solution simply because this router is so problematic it is hard to tell when something is really good. the first couple of times I tried this configuration, it did not work correctly, but after a reset to factory and another reconfiguration (2nd or 3rd time though that process), it is working. I'm still waiting to see what other problems pop up, but this has been running OK like this for several days now.

UPDATE: Although this solution mostly works, it is not a "good" solution to the problem. The Actiontech FiOS router seems to be sensitive to something in the network, as it regularly re-boots with this configuration. In addition, while my windoze PCs can see/communicate with each other anywhere on the LAN, my TiVo boxes can no longer see each other. I guess I'll have to experiment with some earlier firmware releases to see if the AP mode works properly with them.

I have tried every firmware since I got this router and every few days the wireless speeds seem to decrease slightly and then when I try to access the admin page from the LAN...can't get in. Hard reboot sets all back to normal. This has gone on and on and Netgear has not provided any solution on what was billed as it's top of the line consumer router when I purchased it. Anyone have this issue?

V1.0.14.98 cause problems (intermittent slow browsing and disconects) even after all the reset voodoo routines.

So, looking fir Guinea Pigs hehe.

Yeah, i've been using it for 20 minutes and so far no problems

But "Attached Devices" seems to work now (just a pity you can't specify names for expected devices, but apparently need to remember a bunch of mac addresses in your head)

I been using firmware V1.0.4.75NA since December 2010 without any real issues.

I did not shut the power off. I did not have to re-enter my settings. It was quite easy. However, just 15 minutes ago it lost Internet connection. I've never seen it do this before. I shut it down for 30 seconds and powered it back up. I hope it stays up. It may have just needed a power cycle after the installation I'm hoping. Port forwarding appears fine. I've got 10 VoIP phones in another city connected remotely via port forwarding.
I experienced the same problem from V1.0.7.98 to 1.0.16.98 using manual upgrade. The more detail I observe is, my Internet IP address default is DHCP to obtain a leased public IP address, after the leased period finishes the router is unable to renew and automatically falls to static Internet IP. Though the IP address is still the same, the DNS server IP addresses are arbitary which causes unable to get all hosts to Internet automatically.

The worst is, even I force fall back to manual downgrade the V1.0.7.98 bin file to it the problem still exists. Really piss off

I didn't have this problem after the upgrade, but I was wondering if you could work around the issue by specifying a static DNS, like 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4.,

run that for a while, and then go into the router config and speicfy that you want to revert DNS back to "get dynamically from ISP". I know that I experimented a little with 3rd party DNS services (google, etc.) and then went back to dynamically access my ISP's DNS, so maybe that made a difference.
