I've just got a DG834PN Modem Wireless Router.

The default access details are on the back of the router, in my case:

http://192.168.0.1
user name : admin
password : password

You need to do this with an ethernet cable linking the pc and router.

Hope this gets you started.

My router came with a wireless USB adapter WPN111 - for some reason the blue LED flashes all the time. The wireless connection to the internet seems to work okay. Is the flashing LED a problem?

It sounds like you got a router that had been returned to the store, and might not be at its default ip address of 192.168.1.1.

Press and hold the reset button on the back of the unit for approximately 10 seconds (until the test light blinks), release and wait for the router to reboot.

Just as a reminder to all, if you must return configurable items to the store, be kind and reset the units back to factory configuration before you return them.

Try typing: http://www.routerlogin.net/basicsetting.htm
instead of the ip address.

I woke today & my IP addresses were no longer 192.168.1.x

I was able to access the router with the above http address.

I cannot connect either. I have reset the device (it is used). I do not have the cd. I am using a crossover cable. I've tried all the suggested ip addresses/urls, nothing. I am able to ping 192.168.1.1, jut won't bring up the login page. I wonder if it is a problem w/ ie7?

What router do you have?

What modem do you have, make and model number?

At a command prompt (Start, All Programs, Accessories) type ipconfig /all and post the results here please.

I would make sure that if this DSL modem you need to make bridge mode. if this is cable modem then you should go smooth.

as above, use ethernet only to setup first... you should go through Netgear Smart Wizzard if you open your IE Broswer and I suggest use IE.

If you don't see Smart Wizzard, reset the router holding @10sec and front panel will change to amber and initiate the hard reset. It will bring to factory default.

before you ask on Bridge mode.. call your ISP since some unit have different way and best to find from your ISP

Are using crossover cable between your pc and router?
